Libraries Step Up Advocacy

What we’re doing

Libraries Step Up is a collaboration between OWLS, Bridges, Nicolet and IFLS library systems to draw attention to all the work that libraries did in 2020. We’ve developed postcards and a toolkit of plug-and-play and customizable communications resources.

Graphic Design & More

The Outagamie Waupaca Library System provides extensive design and marketing services for its member libraries. The goal of our design and marketing department is to provide you with the assets and services you require to maximize the library patron experience.

During this time of self-isolation and social distancing, providing information about the wealth of online resources available to our communities is a helpful reminder that we are still helping to serve them even in these uncertain times. I have put together a media kit that contains images, video links and other resources you can use in emails, social media posts and your website. I will plan on adding to this page as new resources are created or found.

LMCC St Louis

I had the opportunity to attend the 5th annual Library Marketing and Communications Conference in St. Louis last week. This conference came highly recommended by members of the statewide marketing cohort I belong to, and they were right. This was one of the most informative, enriching and engaging conferences I have had the privilege to attend in my professional career.

Here’s a quick test. Think about the most recognizable brands that come to mind. What is it about these brands that make them stick in your brain? Is it the colors? The message or tagline? The logo? The most memorable brands have achieved that status by having a defined look that is a cohesive blend of color, fonts, logo, messaging and images. It’s that repetition and adherence to their “look” that make these brands easy to spot a mile away.

I'm posting this marketing update as we're in the home stretch of the "Polar Vortex" that has gripped much of the country. I posted this photo on our Facebook page because it definitely felt like walking on the planet Hoth these last few days making the trip from the parking ramp to the office.

This update covers Teen Tech Week, the upcoming Summer Library Program, marketing plans and video production. Stay warm!
