During this time of self-isolation and social distancing, providing information about the wealth of online resources available to our communities is a helpful reminder that we are still helping to serve them even in these uncertain times. I have put together a media kit that contains images, video links and other resources you can use in emails, social media posts and your website. I will plan on adding to this page as new resources are created or found.

LMCC St Louis

I had the opportunity to attend the 5th annual Library Marketing and Communications Conference in St. Louis last week. This conference came highly recommended by members of the statewide marketing cohort I belong to, and they were right. This was one of the most informative, enriching and engaging conferences I have had the privilege to attend in my professional career.

This update covers Teen Tech Week, the upcoming Summer Library Program, marketing plans and video production. Stay warm!

September was a busy month! The end of SLP, kids heading back to school, the kick-off to Library Card Sign-up Month and finally winding down with Banned Books Week. October looks to be just as action packed with Teen Read Week, National Friends of Libraries Week and my personal favorite holiday, Halloween!

Marketing for Fundraisers

Some of the best marketing campaigns I have been involved with revolve around solving a problem, either stated or implicit. A common mistake is to focus inward and spend all of our resources and time espousing the reasons people should be paying attention to our project. Instead, turn that spotlight outwards and send a message conveying how our project will benefit those whose attention we need.
