I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to spend some time with family and friends! This update covers one upcoming promotion (Money Smart Week) and several other marketing topics I wanted to share based off of some recent projects I've worked on.

Infographics

Do you need to tell a compelling story focusing on data? Need to share information from the annual report with library stakeholders? An infographic might be the perfect option to help visualize data in an easy to understand format. Let's face it, if you were handed a spreadsheet filled with an endless list of data points and stats you would probably just nod your head and gloss over it. That's where infographics can help. There are a lot of tools readily available to help create eye-catching infographics, with one of the most popular being Canva. Please let me know if this is something you are interested in and I would be happy to help!

Road Trips and Photo Shoots!

I have had the opportunity to visit many of our member libraries over the past year since joining the OWLS team. I really appreciate getting the chance to see the different facilities and meet some amazing people. I hope to continue this trend with regular “field trips” to discuss any upcoming marketing projects that I could help with. With the addition of our new camera equipment this would also be the perfect time to include a photo shoot of your library. Having a collection of images of your library is a nice resource to have for social media posts, website updates, press releases or even your Google location entry. Please feel to reach out to me to schedule a visit at your convenience.

Logos

The right branding can make a huge first impression and is a crucial component to the success of any organization. The best logos can help you convey your core message and communicate your values all through a striking visual. The purpose of any logo is to create brand recognition and draw a connection between the organization and the design. Some logos have become so identifiable that they have never changed, but other logos have evolved over time to better reflect their current identity. Creating a new logo can be a great opportunity to hit the refresh button and make sure that your logo is saying what you want it to say! If you are considering updating your logo you can always contact me to help get started.

Videos

We released our first InfoSoup video focusing on RBdigital Magazines a few weeks back and really appreciate everybody’s feedback and sharing. The next video is already being planned and we can’t wait for you to see it! If you have any topics you would like to see explored via video, please let me know. Want to create your own video and need some assistance? I am available to help plan, record and edit any video projects.

Media Relations Webinar

Rebecca Kilde, one of the members of the marketing cohort I belong to, recently held a webinar on building media relations. There is a lot of great information discussed during this presentation about connecting with your local newspapers, radio stations and television channels. You can view a recording of the webinar at this location.

Money Smart Week

Money Smart Week is March 30th through April 6th and helps consumers manage their personal finances better. If you are going to be featuring any programs or workshops during this promotion there are a variety of marketing materials available that I could adapt for your library and have printed.
